How to save money for travel ?

At the very beginning I would like to apologise for writing in English, but it has been so much easier for me lately, I decided to write once in Polish once in English.
So let's get started....
Our present topic is how to save money for travel. I think that we can make a list that will make it easier for us to know what we must certainly prepare for, but even before that, I will ask you maybe you have already had contact with making such lists, so if you have any idea of more such lists, let me know in the comments and there will be more such posts.
So, back to the subject here is a list of things and activities that you must always remember :

1. plan your budget!
The first and basic principle! Plan your budget and stick to it. Calculate how much you will approximately spend on accommodation, transport, food and other attractions and add about 10-20%. If you already see that you can barely afford the trip before you leave, maybe you better go somewhere closer or for a little less. Counting down every penny has not yet been fun for anyone.

2. control expenditure
You must always know how much you can spend on holidays. If you go with the attitude "somehow it will be", it may quickly turn out that the money for the trip will magically evaporate in the middle of your stay ;). And if you don't monitor your spending during the holidays, when you return you will find that you have spent much more than you thought. Of course, small deviations may happen, but it is important not to exaggerate.

3 .Plan your trips and check their costs
However, if you prefer to go with a travel agency, plan your trips in advance and check their actual costs. Always check that you are not overpaying too much for the attractions. Perhaps it would be better to organise yourself.

4. Buy tickets in advance
This rule sometimes works out 100% and sometimes it is completely wrong... that depends :). For example, when it comes to plane tickets or train tickets, it will rather apply, but on the other hand there are also last minute offers or other promotions. So you have to monitor the situation on a regular basis.

5. Couchsurfing
That is to say, free hospitality for private individuals. Similar to Airbnb, but free. This is a brilliant option, although it is important to remember that it is not about cost-free sleeping, but above all about meeting new people and new places through the eyes of their inhabitants.

6.  Do not radically change your diet
If you don't pack tons of ice cream and waffles in your everyday life and you don't eat fried fish, why would you do that on holiday? Of course, I do not urge you to give up such meals altogether, but it does not have to be three times a day. It is not good for our body or our wallet.

7.  Check for discount cards
In some places it is also worthwhile to provide discount cards or "subscriptions". For example, a few sightseeing tours in a package, but a ticket for several trips. Or insurance with additional discounts

8.   Look for alternatives!
Just because all your friends go on holiday abroad does not necessarily mean that it is an obligation. Be open to new opportunities and directions. If you've spent all your holidays at the hotel swimming pool in "warm countries" so far, maybe you should try something else. Instead of going on all-inclusive holidays once again, rent a flat in Spain with friends. Or instead of lying on the beach, go to Masuria. If you already see that your budget is barely reaching its limits before you leave, maybe you'd better go somewhere closer, or for a little less. You can rest anywhere! Even in your own city ;).

9.  Good insurance
It may seem that this point should be in expenditure rather than savings, but good insurance is essential! It can avoid huge costs. The most important thing is to have a good look at the conditions for such protection.

10. Be sensible about buying souvenirs.
Of course it is nice to bring some souvenirs with you and give them to your loved ones. But think about whether you need another "shell, ciupaga, casket" for anyone? Will it be just wasted money? Yes, the recipients will surely be pleased that you have remembered them. Or will they feel like throwing it away? If you necessarily want to bring some gifts, make a practical gift ;).
Let me know in the comments what you would add to this list and what ideas you have for the next posts.
The next post will be on Tuesday and I think that the posts will be added twice a week, until Tuesday and Thursday :) Have a nice day
